Liverpool Transfer Rumour 2015: Sterling Saga

The wonder boy of England, Raheem Sterling has stalled the contract extension talk with Liverpool. He has claimed a high salary which might put him in the same line with the blockbuster striker Daniel Sturridge. Liverpool has reportedly denied his massive demands. This transfer rumour might attract the big guns of Europe to bid for the forward.

The 20-year-old’s present contract will be expired in 2017. Liverpool has tried to persuade him to sign a new contract to keep him at Anfield. They have offered a new contract with £100,000-a-week to tie him until 2020. This tempting wage is almost three times larger than his current £35,000-a-week salary. The English youngster has refused to agree with the new terms as he feels that he deserves more.

The energetic kid has asked to pay him an enormous £150,000-a-week same as his club and national compatriot Sturridge. The Merseyside club is reluctant to pay such gigantic salary, which has enabled the other interested clubs to make a move for the dynamic winger.

Sterling is an excellent agile forward who have won the Europe’s best young player award back in December. He has been delivering high quality performances both for the club and his country. His amazing display of skill and daunting speed have caused huge trouble for his opponents. Liverpool’s last year impressive league run is the consequences of his charismatic performances. He was elected as the young player of the year for the Reds.

The speedster is considering about a suitable move away from Anfield if his demands remain unfulfilled. He will accept offers from teams who are eagerly ready to manage his needs. The Europe giants like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Man City, all are keeping a close eye on Sterling’s discomfort. But the Reds were surprised to receive a £40,000,001 bid from their Premier League competitor Arsenal. The Gunners are very keen to bring the high-spirited forward at the Emirates. They might offer Theo Walcott in exchange of this unhappy forward. Earlier Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini expressed his interest in the young talent. He addressed the media that City would like to spend £100m to land him at Etihad. Sterling would be a perfect addition in his side, according to the Chilean.

The prolific forward thinks that he needs to play Champions League on a regular basis. He wants to be a part of this big tournament. He will prefer teams which have achieved the prerequisite prestigious UEFA Champions League qualification. He also likes to play up front in the pitch rather than play as a wing-back at Anfield.

Liverpool won’t let go the best English player of the English Premier League easily. They lost their superstar Luis Suarez last summer and their legendary player Steven Gerrard will take a leave at the end of this season. The Reds will re-consider the matter, but the appearance of Jordan Ibe might influence them to take a bold decision. If Sterling decides to leave them, Ibe will be a possible cover for the young sensation.

The Merseyside club will have to be brave, if they decide to make the transfer rumour true and cash-in on Sterling. They might let their exceptional prospect go for a hefty fee of £50 million. To cover up the loss, they would likely invest the sum in getting high profile players.

The Reds are currently in the fifth position of the Premier league and 5 points behind the preceding Manchester United. If they fail to finish the season without securing a place in the top four, the transfer rumour surrounding Sterling’s departure will be a concerning fact for them.

This whole transfer rumour won’t settle down till the beginning of the new season. The fans will be happy to see Sterling back in the field. Now we have to wait to see what happens in next summer, whether he decides to negotiate with the Reds or leave the Anfield.
