Olympique Lyonnais Wants Backup Striker in January

As the African Cup of Nation is knocking on the door Olympique Lyonnais is badly in need of a backup striker. Lyon has two players who are surely going to Africa in January to represent their national teams.

Clinton N’Jie and Henri Bedimo are two young prospects in two different positions for Lyon. In the absence of Yacine Benzia and Clinton N’Jie it will be very hard for them to continue their fine form in the league.

Olympique Lyonnais is currently at the third position in Ligue 1. If they want to keep up this momentum they must add some good quality attacking players in the squad.

Alaxandre Lacazette and Yoann Goucauff are two great names in the squad so far. Their performances give inspirations to other players. Alaxandre Lacazette is the highest goal scorer in the league and already scored 15 goals in 18 appearances.

If somehow they loss this goal machine in January that can be a disaster for the team. So they have to find a potential replacement in the forward position.

Bordeaux forward Cheick Diabate can be a great option for Lyon. He scored 8 times in 15 appearances. Not only that but also he has the experience of playing in France. So that he can easily cope up with this team.

Lyon needs to be very attentive in the January transfer window. Local publication can not reveal any name yet but they hope to hear some big names.

olympique lyonnais manager Hubert Fournier has confirmed in a press conference that they can be very active in the upcoming transfer window. Though he did not tell the reasons behind this but it is not hard for anyone to realize the reasons.

Hubert said “We are not going to recruit for the sake of recruiting. We will have a look around and remain vigilant.”
